TTC Pictures will be taken in October. . This mostly affects grade 8 student.


New spelling words given Monday  This is week 1of the October words.

For parents: the basic homework schedule for homeroom is as follows:

  • Monday- Spelling
  • Tuesday- Math
  • Wednesday- Writing
  • Thursday - math and spelling test study
  • Every evening should include at least a half hour of sustained reading.

Periods 1 and 2...Room 207

9:00 - 9:40 am
9:40 - 10:20 am

Grade 8: We will continue using hydraulics and pneumatics to control levers. Students will make a simple lever controlled by hydraulic pump. In pairs, students will then make a marble maze controlled by hydraulics. This assignment is posted on the Assignment page.


 

 

Period 3 ...Room 205

10:35 - 11:15 am
11:15 - 11:45 am

A follow up lesson recording the results of the rocket launches. Complete the science write-up.

Drop everything and read period. Homework collection and song reflection sharing will begin.


 

Period 5 ...Room 32

CASI test writing period.

Completing group math work with problem solving on charts. Patterning and algebra work will also be continued.

Homework: Poetry and lyrics
Choose one song that has meaning to you.
Write out the lyrics ( a small section)
Provide the artist, song and album.
Tell why the section has particular meaning for you.
Bring in the song on some form of media to share with the class. Note that we will not be able to share everyone's selections in one day, or even a week. The written assignment is due tomorrow, but the sharing will happen over the month of October.


 

 

Here are some links to sites that show how to use sign language. We will have homework this weekend that asks students to use sign language, so it might be good to visit these sites ahead of time, just for fun.
